A call lurks in all of us. Maybe it presents itself through a midlife crisis. Or a health crisis. Or a spiritual emergency – a dark night of the soul. Crisis often emerges from the unanswered call. A call to adventure that goes unanswered leads to a situation that forces our hand. We can no longer comfortably avoid destiny.
Our hero’s journey can be our greatest lesson in life and our greatest gift, or if avoided, it can snowball into our greatest and most painful challenge. Our life can suffer across the board.
Sooner or later we hit a point where we can no longer refuse the call. “Fuck it. I have to do this.” YOLO as the kids today say.
When we step into the journey of our calling, we create an opportunity to create a bigger, bolder, brighter version of ourselves. We learn to take full responsibility and ownership over our lives and what we want to make of it. We find out more about ourselves and often discover who we are truly meant to be.
Answer the Call

I believe we are all meant to grow and develop in this life. I believe that when one of us evolves, we all evolve, and that growth, development and transformation does not necessarily happen easily on its own. The hero to be needs a guide and mentor. A coach. Someone that can point out their blindspots and challenge them to step into that greater version of themselves while supporting that part of all of us that craves comfort and safety.
The call refused becomes the whale that swallowed Jonah. Better to answer before getting swallowed. How long will you avoid what waits for you?
